Telltale Games' latest and final installment of the point and click adventure series starts off with you playing as Gromit. Gromit is the level-headed, sensible partner in this puzzle-solving duo. It seems that your best friend Wallace as gotten himself in to quite the pickle. Wallace has found himself engaged to his neighbor, Ms. Fitt. Being man’s best friend, you need to make sure your pal doesn’t ruin his life with marriage. Most of the game is spent collecting items and using them in combinations to solve puzzles and advance the game. More often than I would like to admit, I had to look up the solutions to the puzzles. This is not a problem with the game, just my inability or patience to work my way through them. The graphics and character animations are great and Telltale has nailed the stop-motion clay animation of the films.
This being the first point-and-click game I have played in years, it was refreshing to have a game that I could play with my daughter...until I spent the first hour of the game repeatedly making the cute squirrel climb down from his tree. Finally, I convinced her that we would see him again and we set off to help Wallace. Without spoiling too much of the game, you do get to see a crazed squirrel early on that was even more enjoyable for her. I had a great time playing and plan on picking up the previous three episodes to play through. The complete four episode series will run you $34.99 on Steam, a reasonable price for the amount of game play you get.
Final verdict: 8 out of 10.
